Week 42: The Heavens Opened...and it Rained!

Since I have been in this area I have been trying to contact a lady who is less active.  Everyone kept talking about how sweet she is, so literally for the last nine months we have been trying to contact her.  Finally we were able to talk to her last week and it was such a miracle!  She doesn't live here full time, so that sort of explains why it has taken us so long to contact her, but she came to a ward baby shower and it was great!  We helped set up for the baby shower, and it was a lot of fun to be with ladies from the ward, and semi horrifying to hear labor stories.

Sunday at church we had a ton of less active members come!  It was great!  It is probably because it was Easter Sunday... but it was so great to see all of them there!  We had to teach the 16 and 17 year old Sunday school class which was fun!  It is so weird how things have already changed since I've been in Sunday school.  TOO many selfies in Sunday school- haha, smart phones are great and horrible.  We had lunch with a family and then went and taught some people that we'd been trying to contact, and then we had dinner with four member families who are so awesome.  It basically rained all day, but we had the car so it all worked out great!

On Tuesday we had an awesome day of finding.  The week before we were in a rut with finding new people, and it’s always hard when you don't feel like things are falling into place or when nothing seems to be going right.  After P-day we were just determined to have a good day of finding and talking with people, so we prayed for strength and help and it was such a miracle that we were able to talk to so many great people!  Nothing major happened, people weren't running up to us asking to be baptized, but we were able to talk to a lot of people about the new Easter video.  We found a couple new investigators, the sun was shining, and it was just a great day!

We were on our way to our dinner appointment on our bikes and there had been ominous clouds all day.  The heavens opened and all the water that ever existed fell from the sky- we were totally SOAKED! It looked like we just jumped in a pool!  We showed up at our dinner appointment and we were all "Uh, can we use a towel?"  Haha, the member was so sweet, but we were freezing the rest of the night.  After dinner we went to a Relief Society Activity and then to a mission call opening of a Priest from the ward. I happened to guess the exact mission he was going to!  One of the other kids from the ward was like, "Wow, if one of the missionaries guessed it right the church really must be true!”- pure luck!

We helped sister Martin paint more.  I stood up and touched my head on wet paint and I still have white paint in my hair!

Love you all!  Thank you so much for the prayers and support!  Have a great week!
