We had a great time helping Sister Martin rip out her entire garden and prepare her yard for the winter. Afterwards she fed us a delicious lunch and then spent the rest of the day teaching with us. She is absolutely the best! As we were coming back from a distant part of our area she mentioned how she and her husband used to visit a less active sister in that general area. I told Sister Martin I would look up her address and she pulled her car over while I checked. Low and behold, she lived right up the street from where we were parked, and on top of that, it was her birthday! It was so evident that the Lord's hand was in that! We went to her home and sang, “happy birthday.” It was wonderful to meet with her, and she said that she has been thinking about coming back to church and was amazed that we came by. It is so cool to see what happens when we follow the Spirit!
We had a lesson with Bob and HE taught US the restoration and it was amazing! I don't think I've heard him say that many words in the span of a half hour ever! It was so cool!
We taught Al, and it was great to see that so many points of the restoration rang so true with him! He has been reading and praying and has such great faith. We are so excited for him!
We recently had stake conference. The adult session was on Saturday night, and it was wonderful. The best part about it was that MARY WAS THERE! We hugged and cried and laughed - it was so amazing to see her. She is helping the missionaries teach other investigators.... I had a mini flashback of our first lesson in Starbucks, and now she is teaching the lessons! Such a proud moment! She is planning on getting baptized in October.
Sorry this is a bit all over the place, but we are doing great here in the Griffin ward!! Oh, check out the Deep Fried Twinkies – only in Georgia!! Love you! Sister Hunter
