Week 70: 5K and Atlanta Motor Speedway!

We have had quite the week! Last P-Day we decided to run our own little 5k for "fun" and I was dying the whole time, haha.  Sister B is a stellar runner so she was encouraging me, and I survived.  Afterwards we went out teaching with a couple in our ward, and all of our appointments fell through... so they showed us the new house they are moving into.  It’s being renovated, and it was a lot of fun to go through.  We had a great district meeting on Tuesday and then we went out teaching with a member all day- Sister Martin!  She is one of my favorite members of all time and is such a blast to be with.  We visited lots of good people with her, and I love seeing member’s testimonies in action.  It is the best when they share experiences that our investigators can relate to so much more than they could with us! On Wednesday we went to the Waffle House with this cute old couple in our ward.  They have been married for 64 years!  We also helped them hang up pictures in their house.  It really was so sweet seeing the two of them together! We taught Maple about faith and she seriously is the sweetest person.  She has such a strong desire to build her faith and it has been so neat to watch her testimony blossom.  She has started saying the closing prayer in our lessons and the spirit is so strong when she prays! We also had our first Bible Study this week!! Whoo!! We started in Genesis 1 with the creation and it went really well.  We had Maple and a couple from the ward, and then us and the elders.  Everyone felt really comfortable participating, which was nice! We are excited to start having that every week, and we think it will help the work here a ton!

We had a neat experience when we were out finding.  We were knocking doors and found these cute, young teenage girls. They asked us to pray for them and their family.  They just had really sweet spirits about them! We told them we would come back later and try and meet their parents and talk to the whole family.  As we were leaving, one of the girls came running back outside and asked us to pray for her again about an issue she's been struggling with in school.  Sister B said the sweetest prayer, and when she was finished the girl was in tears and the spirit was just so strong! I am so grateful that Heavenly Father allows us to have these sweet, tender mercies!

We went to the state fair at the Atlanta Motor Speedway which was fun! I've never been one for fairs, but we decided to "go where the people are," and we were able to talk to lots of people!  At church on Sunday we had a less active sister that we have been working with for a long time come to church!! Both of our jaws dropped when we saw her sitting on the pew! Such a tender mercy! We taught Relief Society and she participated in the lesson. It was great! Here’s an update on our investigators and newly baptized members: Bob is doing great. We are going to do baptisms at the temple this Friday, and are hoping to get a ride with him!  We haven’t been able to contact Al in a while which is a bummer.  Connie is amazing and seeking the truth, and we love teaching her.

Thanks for all of the prayers and support!

Our last District Meeting before transfers

Our GPS led us down this dead end dirt road, but it was a pretty picture!

We both hit our month marks this past week!
