Week 74: Highs and Lows

Highs of the week:
Tuesday we went out teaching with Sister Martin and did service for her at her house.  We cleaned her windows, and had an unfortunate accident!  We were up hanging out the windows of the second story.  I was standing on a bench while cleaning the outside of the window when I tipped over a big bucket of water onto the carpet.  All of simultaneously screamed and ran to get towels.  We laughed so hard afterward- it was one of those things that I wish I could have recapped in slow motion.  We had a lesson with an investigator, Kim, and her son, Josh.  The spirit was so strong as we talked about how the gospel can build family relationships- it is such a blessing that we have the gospel in our family.  We saw Gayla, and it has been so amazing to be part of her journey as she prepares to be baptized. We are so excited for her.

Bible study is always a highlight! We had it at a member’s home this week because the carpets were being cleaned at the church building. We went finding that day and found three new investigators through tracting in like an hour- it was crazy! We helped a member pack all her stuff and move.  She is the sweetest, most southern person alive and a total cat lady.  The elders lifted up her box spring, and four cats jumped out of the bottom and ran wild around the house.... haha, people and their animals!  We had an awesome lesson with Gary and his son, Trent, sat in this time too.  He was asking some really great questions-it’s so cool to see how the Spirit can testify of truth through the Book of Mormon!  We had a lesson with Skye, and she came to church and it was great!! She is on date and hoping to get baptized at the end of November!

Lows of the week:
One of our investigator families, who we've taught a few times and helped move here from Illinois, dropped us. We were really sad, but she said even though she doesn't want to meet with us anymore she will let us know if she needs anything!  It is starting to get pretty cold on our morning runs, which is a bummer.  Hmm, everyday really has its ups and downs, but I know that because we are on the Lord's errand we are truly being blessed.  Every week presents its challenges, but we know that Heavenly Father is leading and guiding us, and we can learn from our setbacks and keep moving forward with faith! So grateful to have this time to serve my Heavenly Father and to represent His Son everyday! Thanks so much for the prayers and support!  Love you!

 I finally caught a fish!
